Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about empty leg flights.
What is an empty leg flight?
An empty leg is a private jet that needs to reposition after dropping off passengers or before picking up the next charter. Rather than fly empty, operators sell these flights at significant discounts — typically 50-75% off the normal charter price.
How much can I really save?
Savings vary by route and aircraft, but most empty legs on LeapJet are priced 50-75% below the equivalent one-way charter. A flight that would normally cost $20,000 might be available for $5,000-$8,000.
Can the schedule change or be cancelled?
Empty legs depend on the primary charter booking. If that booking changes, your empty leg could be rescheduled or cancelled. We recommend flexible travel plans and will notify you immediately of any changes.
How do I book a flight?
Browse available flights, find one that matches your needs, and submit a quote request. We connect you with the operator, who will confirm availability and finalize pricing. No charge is made until you confirm.
Is it safe? Are operators vetted?
All operators on LeapJet are FAA Part 135 certified. We also display ARGUS and Wyvern safety ratings where available so you can make informed decisions about your flight.
Can I bring pets or extra luggage?
Many flights allow pets and have generous luggage policies. Each listing shows whether pets are allowed. You can also mention specific luggage needs in the message field of your quote request.
